Front Pictures supplied a digital fulldome projection theater for the 125-year anniversary celebration of the Swiss healthcare company Roche at their headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.
The 10 m RFE (rigid-frame enclosed) projection dome featured a printed decorative cover and aluminum exterior doors. It was equipped with an 8-channel 4K projection system driven by a Screenberry media server. The dome theater was designed to accommodate 30-40 people at each screening.
The installation and system set-up took four days, after which the on-site staff could run autocalibration, schedule shows, and operate the system using a user-friendly control app.
During the two-day anniversary event in Basel, more than 3,500 people visited the Science Dome. Inside, they could watch a fulldome show produced by creative studio Hello Monday. The immersive experience left a lasting impression on the attendees, giving everyone a unique understanding of how ideas form in the brain and providing a better view of how Roche is innovating to continually push science forward.
After the anniversary event, the dome theater continued operating for two more weeks so that more Basel residents could enjoy the immersive show.
